House music is a form of electronic music that was first heard in Chicago in the early 1980s. It gained global appeal later in the same decade, with scenes developing in the US, Europe, South America and Australia. By the 1990s mainstream pop artists like Madonna, Janet Jackson and Björk were incorporating the style into their music.

Influential early house acts include Frankie Knuckles, Kym Mazelle and Phuture. Notable house artists that developed the style later on include Daft Punk, Roger Sanchez and DJ Sneak.

House is a form of dance music that has some similarities to disco. House has a greater emphasis on electronic elements and the use of drum machines than disco however. The style features repeating four-on-the-floor bass drum beats complemented by off-beat hi-hat patterns. Synthesizer basslines and melodies round out the music along with samples. The BPM range of house is between 118 and 135.

Q-Asar artists that have released house material include So Simple! and Heptagon's Secret.
